Nel villaggio di Berk ormai i draghi vivono in totale armonia con gli esseri umani, li aiutano e sono integrati perfettamente in tutte le funzioni del villaggio che è ora diventato prospero grazie a questa amicizia. Nelle sue esplorazioni Hiccup però si imbatte in un gruppo di cacciatori di draghi, scoprendo che esiste un rinnegato che sta radunando un esercito di bestie al suo servizio.
